We have been unable to locate him on the U.S. Census in the years 1840, 1850 or 1860; however, he was listed on the 1860 Agriculture Census living in Cass County, GA (Cartersville P.O.). He was shown to have 160 acres of land, (60 acres under
cultivation). He had two horses, one mule, two milk cows, four other cattle, and eight pigs.
On the 1870 Agriculture Census, Emanuel had 160 acres of land in Cherokee County, 50 under cultivation. He had 1 horse, 1 mule, 2 milk cows, 3 other cattle, 5 sheep and 15 pigs.
In 1880, Emanuel owned 130 acres of land in Cherokee County, 30 under cultivation. The census indicated he had 1 horse, 1 mule, 3 milch cows, 2 calves, 3 other cattle and 4 pigs.
