August 17, 2010 Windows Communication Foundation Basics    

              

MEETING AT MICROSOFT HEADQUARTERS 2000 W Sam Houston Parkway South, Suite #350  (bring your parking receipt to the meeting to get it stamped for free parking)

 

This month Mark Wilkinson will discuss Windows Communicaton Foundation. The Windows Communication Foundation (or WCF) is an application programming interface in the .NET framework for building connected, service-oriented applications.

 

We will start with the most basic example of a WCF application that allows communication between 2 applications within a network and build on that to create a publish and subscribe framework using callback contracts.

 

Mark Wilkinson has an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Houston and is currently a .NET developer at a Houston based oil and natural gas wellbore surveying company
