We start with my GG Grandparents.
1839: William Thomas Kinchella (b.1817, d.1880) married Mary Ann Walpole, (b. 1824,
d.1876)), on December 30th 1839. He was a bachelor, resident in Bombay and a clerk in the
Deputy Commissary Generals office. She was a spinster and resident in Bombay. The banns
were published on December 15th, 22nd and 29th. Witnesses were J. W. Redwood, Rosa Seitz,
Ann Caroline Tanner, F. Mayment, Wm Pollack, Mary Ann Harrop, Eliza Fido, Wm. Henderson
and Amelia Henderson. The wedding was conducted in St Thomas's Cathedral by R. Y. Keays,
Asst. Garrison Chaplain. (OIOC N/3/14/49).
They would have 10 children.
Mary Ann Kinchella age 52 died August 4, 1876 of dysentery. She was the wife of Wm
Kinchella and was buried in Sewree Cemetery Bombay on August 5 by Chas Silder.

William Thomas Kinchella, Government Pensioner, age 63, died on July 23, 1880. The
cause was cancer of the tongue. He was buried at St Mary's Church in Poona by A. O. Walsh,
Acting Chaplain.
1840: Ann Matilda Kinchella was born on September 15. Her Parents were William and Mary
Anne Kinchella of Mazagon. He was a clerk at the Military Board Office. Ann was baptized at
St Thomas's Cathedral on October 11 by R.Y Keays. (N/3/14/302)
She married John Poyntz, (b.1835 d. 1887), on June 9, 1857. John
was a clerk in the Auditor Generals office and a resident of Bombay. His father was John Poyntz.
Ann Matilda's father was William Kinchella. Witnesses were R.R.Coysens, T.Kinchella, John
Broadhurst, H.A.Connelly, N.A.McCullough, I.Howell and C.Poyntz. The service was performed by George Candy. (OIOC N/3/31/134)
Ann Matilda died on June 1, 1905 of brain disease. At that time she was resident in Poona, but must have died in Bombay because she was buried in Sewree Cemetary. (N/3/92/246).
1842: William Thomas Kinchella (2nd) was born on January 9, 1842 and baptized on February 4.
His parents were William, clerk Military Board office, and Mary Ann Kinchella of Bombay. He was
was baptized at St Thomas's Cathedral by R.Y. Keays. (N/3/16/2)
William died in 1845 at the
age of 3 years and 7 months. He was buried from St Thomas's Cathedral at Back Bay Cemetery

1844: Emma Sophia Kinchella was born on April 18, 1844 and baptized on May 12. Her parents
were William and Mary Ann Kinchella of Bombay. She was baptized in St Thomas's Cathedral

1846: Georgiana Isabella Kinchella was born on May 9 1846 and baptized on June 7. Her
parents were William and Mary Ann Kinchella of Bombay. She was baptized in St Thomas's

1848: Henry Elias Kinchella was born December 20 1847 and baptized on January 23 1848. His
parents were William and Mary Ann Kinchella of Bombay. He was baptized in St Thomas's

1849: Helen Eliza Kinchella was born on December 6, 1849 and baptized on December 30. Her
parents were William and Mary Ann Kinchella of Bombay. She was baptized in St Thomas's

She died in 1851 at the age of 1
year and 4 months and was buried on April 21 Back Bay Cemetery. The service was conducted

1852: John Frederick Kinchella was born on October 17 1852 and baptized on November
21. His parents were William and Mary Ann Kinchella of Bombay. He was baptized in St
Thomas's Cathedral by F. J. Spring. (N/3/26/220).
He died in 1879 at the age of 25 of
Remittent Fever. He was a clerk. His burial was on June 12th at Sewree Cemetery by C. F. H

1854: George Augustus Kinchella was born on June 15 1854 and baptized on August 22. His
parents were William and Mary Ann Kinchella of Bombay. He was baptized in St Thomas's

1874: Charles Kinshella was born on September 20 1874 and baptized on November 18. He was
the son of John Kinshella, no employment, and Angelina Henry of Ahmednuggar. He was

1875: Sam William Kinchella was born on June 10 1875 and baptized on July 5. He was the son
of John Frederick, telegraph inspector, and Paskin Kinchella of Kamatipura, Bombay. He was
baptized at St Paul's church, Kamatipura by Alfred Gadney. (N/3/49/248).
He died on July 18
1875 of fever. He was buried the same day at Sewree Cemetery by C. J. Hinkson. (N/3/49/310)
1878: Mabel Constance Kinchella was born on January 18, 1878 and baptized on February 3
1878. She was the daughter of Henry Elias, clerk Military Account Department, and Susannah
Mary Kinchella of Poona. She was baptized at St Mary's church Poona by A. G. Cane, Chaplain.

December 23 1878. He was a bachelor and a clerk in the Ordnance Department. She was a
spinster. Both were residents of Poona. Their fathers were William Kinchella and John King.
Witnesses were John King, W. Kinchella, George Kinchella and Samuel Bailia. The service was
conducted in St Mary's church by A. G. Cane, Chaplain. (N/3/52/310).
Edward died on August
15, 1917 at the age of 65. He was a pensioner and the cause of death was dysentery. He was
buried at St Mary's church Poona by John Chappie Hall, Chaplain. (N/3/118/129).
Jessica died
on Feb 9 1926 at the age of 63. The cause of death was chronic diarrhea and congestion, pneumonia and heart failure. She was buried in Sewree

1879: Henry Walpole Maidment Kinchella was born on June 2 1879 and baptized on June 28 at

1913: Arnold E Kinchella, 22, bachelor, inspector Telephone Co., married Olive Constance
Hoffman, 18, spinster, after banns at Christ Church, Byculla, on September 16, 1913. Their
fathers were Edward Charles Kinchella and James William Hoffman. The witnesses were W. H.
Stubbs, E. C. Kinchella, C. M. Johnson and L. B. Hoffman. The service was conducted by W.

1916: Susannah M. Kinchella died of cardiac failure on July 17, 1916 at the age of 62. She was
the widow of H.E Kinchella, Pensioner, Finance office, Poona. She was buried on July 17 in

1920: Violet Patricia St John Kinchella, full, spinster, R.F.A., married Reginald Percy Bird, full,
widower, Sgt-Major 4 Ammunition Colour(?), after Banns, in the St Thomas church, Hyderabad,
on March 14 1920. Both were resident in Hyderabad, Sind. Their fathers were Francis Bird and
Henry Elias Kinchella. The witnesses were M. J. Collins and F. Greenwood. The service was
