Since Erica Bird's childhood, she has observed her grandparents, Harvey and Nell Shimek, exhibiting their love of gardening and hybridizing.
It is no surprise Erica became an avid Daylily gardener, hybridizer, and flower show winner. The 2007 photo to the left is Erica working her bed.
