Wayne's Photo Page

I will post some of my favorite photos here.  Due to the image size and slow loading, I will probably post only one or two at a time and change them periodically.

I took these on a trip to the Ranch in New Mexico in 2002.  Some of these were taken with a Canon G2; others were scanned from the the negatives taken with a Pentax 6x7.

These photos are from two trips to Russia, one in Aug/Sep 2005 as tourists, and one in early April, 2006 on business.

The pics were taken  as JPG's with a Pentax *IstD digital SLR camera.
UPDATE – I re-sized these and the sky came out much better than before
I carry an Addonics MFR (Multi-Function Recorder) on most  trips, to burn DVD's as I go,  so I can re-use the SD memory cards.

Sunset, seen from the ship’s restaurant

This was the view out one of the portholes in our cabin, only 1 foot above the waterline, as we crossed one of the lakes in rough weather.  It made Linda nervous, but I was mesmerized

The “Sunken Church” with a really large radar antenna in the backgound.  An interesting contrast.

These are from the trip to England, Scotland and Wales with our grand-daughter, Ashley, in 2007

These pics were taken in RAW format with a Pentax K10D digital camera.  I used Bibble and Photoshop to edit the pics and save them as JPG's.
Note the image improvement over the pics taken in JPG format in the previous section.

This piper was near Glencoe, site of the infamous massacre of the McDonalds.

St.Andrews

Abbey at St. Andrews, Scotland.  The mother of all golf courses is a short walk to the left of these ruins.   A native Scot I worked with accused me of heavy editing, because the sky is never that nice in St. Andrews.

Eilean Donan Castle on Loch Duich, on the west side of Scotland.

Roslyn

A small portion of the ceiling of Roslyn Chapel, Scotland.  The guide said there was no proof that the Masons had anything to do with Roslyn.  It seems to me that the overwhelming stone-cutting work in what was a private family chapel says otherwise.

The massed pipe bands at the Edinborough Castle Tatoo.  What a hoot!  We were jammed in like sardines in bleachers perched on top of a rocky pinnacle in the heart of Edinborough.  It was well worth every bit of discomfort.  And, miracle of miracles, it didn't rain.
