I wanted to let everyone know that I have decided to go to to the Great Lakes VFP developers Conference. I am passing the word because we have had a SIG group go to this conference in the past, and it was probably the most fun conference that I had ever been to.
The speakers and the sessions are the same quality as the full priced official DevCon 13 in Florida. I counted 18 session slots and about 40 topics.
Where else can you go to a full quality VFP developers conference for under $1000 including air and hotel. Normal other DevCons tend to be $2000 to $3000. I am only going to one conf this year, and this is it. Even if your yearly technical education/skill upgrade budget is under $1000 you may still be able to justify this one. If you are not an independent contractor, you might be able to get your boss to pay the conference registration fee or something. Regardless, it is a business/education expense.

people from our group, (the VFP SIG Houston) that will be going. Dan Jurden,
and Dan LeClair will be doing DevCon presentations. Others are talking about
going as well. If you are thinking about going let me know. The more, the merrier.
