Visiting The Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF)

There are many things to do and experience at TRF.  TRF is located on FM 1774, 7 miles North of Magnolia, Texas.

You May Visit Shops and Other Vendors

There are a multitude of shops and vendors to visit while at TRF, including food (mentioned below), clothing, jewelry, wood-crafts, musical instruments, furniture, amusements, and weapons.  In many of them, you can observe artisans and craftspeople at their trade. One of the most popular is Valentine’s Arms and Armory.

This man is an armorer who works in Valentine’s Arms and Armory. He hand-forges swords and other edged weapons while also making armor and other personal gear.

There Are Many Performing Venues

You can find a wide variety of performing acts from jugglers and musical acts to comedy and specialty groups of all kinds.  There are even roaming minstrels.

This piper is playing near the front gate.

Members of the Performance Company Appear At Various Scheduled Events

You may attend scheduled "Scenario" performances at various times during the day.  Each one helps deliver the theme of the Festival.

Here you see the Duke of Richmond dancing with a lusty wench.

Food, Food, Glorious Food

If you like great food, there are many ethnic varieties, including English, French, Spanish, German, Greek, and Italian.  Or, you can attend the King’s Feast and meet the King and Queen.

Pictured is Henry of Tudor, Eighth to Bear the Name, King of England, Ireland, a goodly part of Wales - and all else that really matters.

Lots of Combat To Observe

Like Medieval Combat? There are many shows available.  Types include: the Highland Games, Art of Defense, and path-show Combat Scenarios.

This is a photo of all the members of the Performance Company who engaged in authorized "Art of Defense" combat, either at Valentine's Armory or on the "paths" through-out the Festival.

Gardens Abound

There are many gardens to stroll through, from Titania’s Bower to the Rose Garden.

Or walk down the one-and-a-half mile long Magical Faerie Gardens, where these sculptures reside.
