My gg grandfather was Charles Summers, b. about 1810 and married to Martha Hogan in Stewart County, Tennessee on September 07, 1868. Searching for connections back to NC.
Perhaps ggg grandfather, ( father of Charles Somers / Summers ) could be James Somers / Summers or a Benjamin Summers. Any info or tidbits would be welcomed.

My mothers maiden name was Summers. It seems that Sir John Summers born approx. 1733 was the first relative to my mother that I can find. He had a son named Samuel Summers born in 1771 in Botetcourt Co., Va. I have traced the family directly to my Great Grandfather Matthew Marion Summers of Alabama. Would love to hear from anyone that might be a long lost cousin. Carolyn Gaines e-mail carolyn.gaines@worldnet.att.net

While reading your intro page, I thought the pride their is in the name SUMMERS. I have encountered this while trying to locate relatives-all say they are extremely proud and tied into the surname SUMMERS. Hoping to find others researching JOHN T. Summers, son ANDREW JACKSON Summers, both of INDIANA. John was reportedly born in MARYLAND in early 1700s; beginning of our Summers line in America. I am a GG Granddaughter of Washington "WASH" Summers (b. 1844) & SIBINA (Barrett sp?) Summers. Couple lived in MISSOURI on farm. Sibina was born in Nov 1844 in Mayo/Cork Co. Ireland. Her parents: Margaret (McNALLY) and Anthony BARRETT. Hoping to find people who provided info to SYLVIA STITES. Would love to hear from anyone on this! Great to see your site! I'm interested in John Summers and wife Margaret Dill who were in Jackson, TN in the early to mid 1800's, and their descendants. Also Earl Summers and wife Eva Lina Dill who lived in eastern OK in the early 1900's and their daughter, Alta Dell Summers.

Very nice, so happy you are willing to share your research with others. I am connected to the Paschal (with one L) group but somewhere over the years they have added the second L back. I am also connected to the Orr group. JC

I found that your L.D. Summers was very near my George Somers when he was in Weakley Co., Tn. And my grandfather, Seward H. Hall, was a founder of Hall Moody college in Martin! It truly is a small world. Your web page is well done. Thanks for all your work.
