Jemima UNKNOWN.

Spouse: Solomon LEE. Solomon LEE and Jemima UNKNOWN were married in Edgecombe Co. NC.588,589 Jemima Lee appointed guardian to Bryant and Richard Lee, orphans of Solomon Lee, dec'd. giving secu. in the sum of 500 proc. James Permentor and Benjamin Braswell Sec. Children were: Charles LEE, Richard LEE, Bryant LEE.

Spouse: George BREWER. George BREWER and Jemima UNKNOWN were married in 1765 in Edgecombe Co. NC. This is a possibility, but not proven.

No deed that we have found lists a wife for George nor does his will mention a wife.

In Johnston Co. NC Jemima Lee, mother of Richard and Bryan Lee and widow of Solomon Lee, married George Brewer. Brewer is asked by the courts to be Jemima's surety in the estate of her deceased husband Solomon Lee. It is not proven that this is the same George Brewer who is later in Anson Co. However, it seems more than coincidental that Richard and Bryan Lee bought their first land in Anson Co. (1790) from George Brewer and that George Brewer had a daughter and a granddaughter named Jemima. These deeds to the Lees were witnessed by Libeth Brewer. It is unknown whether this is George's wife, the daughter who married Madford and is deceased by the time he writes his will in 1794, or neither.

On 12 January 1795, the same month that George Brewer's will is proven in court, a Jemina Brewer bought 100A on Negrohead for 20 pounds from John Smith of Montgomery Co. NC. It seems odd that George's daughter bought land so soon after he died. Perhaps this was a deed that George had already begun negotiating and Jemimah, being the eldest, carried through with it. Or perhaps Jemima is George's widow?

The Long Brewer Line Colonial Family Genealogy says that Jemima (George's daughter) married George Brewer. This might explain who the George Brewer is who, along with Jemimah, Sarah, Rachel, Fance, and Maryann, sold 350 acres, including the 100 acres bought by Jemima from John Smith. However, if she were married, it is highly unlikely she would have either inherited land or bought land in her own name.

Annie Lee Traywick's Ancestor Chart dated July 30 1997 shows George's wife as Sarah Lanier.

Joseph WARD was born between 1695 and 1699.29 I am guessing that Joseph was between 17 and 21 when he was listed in his grandfather's will. I base this on the fact that he was given possession of property until his cousin Samuel Rayner reached 17, indicating he was probably already old enough to hold property; but he was listed as the son of Thomas Ward, which I believe indicates he was not yet of age. Parents: Thomas WARD and Joanna RAYNER.

Thomas WARD was born before 1690.29 He was likely at least 25 when he was listed as executor of his father-in-law's will. He died after 29 Sep 1716.29 He was still living when his father-in-law made his will.

Richard WARREN was born about 1580 in London, England.41 I am estimating his birth based on the estimaged birth of his first child Mayr, b ca. 1610. According to Mayflower Families, "Mourt's Relation" lists Warren as being "of london" along with Steeven Hopkins and Edward Dotte. He immigrated in 1620 to Aboard the Mayflower.1513 Richard Warren is said to be one of the signers of the Mayflower Compact. According to Anderson, he "received an uncertain number of acres as a passenger on the Mayflower, and five acres as a passenger on the Anne (presumably for his wife and and children) [PCR 12:4-6]" He died between 1627 and 1620 in Plymouth Massachusetts.41,1513 He was listed in the 1627 Plymouth division of cattle, thus was still living [PCR 12:12, 2:177]. A deed from Thomas Clarke to William Bradford dated 28 Sept. 1629 listed the widow Warren (Mayflower Families). The Plymouth tax list taken 25 March 1633 listed Widow Warren [PCR 1:10,27]. Richard Warren is said to be a signer of the Mayflower Compact. His descendants are chronicled in Wakefield's Mayflower Families in Progress: Richard Warren of the Mayflower and His Descendants for Four Generations and the followon...

Thigpen Tribe and other researchers believe our William Little of Surry Co. VA to be a descendant of Richard Warren through his daughter Elizabeth Little Church. However, the link does not seem to be there.
