Stephen TAYLOR was born on 9 Jul 1838 in NC.1335,1372 The 1860 and 1870 census list Stephen as born in NC, but 1880 census states he was born in TN. He appeared in the census in 1860 in Henderson Co. TN.1104 He served in the military about 1861 in Company C, 51st Tennesse Infantry.1104 According to Mike, a family story says that "his wife's family (the Ross's) supported the Union cause; that any time someone received furlough to go home from their respective army, a 'neutral' party had to be sent ahead to make sure 'the other side' wasn't already there." He appeared in the census in 1870 in Henderson Co. TN.1104 [NEED TO DEFINE SENTENCE: moved]1104 Stephen went into business operating a Cotton Gin and mercantile establishment. A town grew up and became known as Taylor's Gin. It was eventually renamed Briggs. He died on 28 Sep 1918 in Burnet Co. TX.1472 He was buried about 28 Sep 1918 in Dillingham Cemetery, Briggs, Burnet Co. TX.1372 The J.J. Taylor family, which includes Jemima, age 39, has a son named Stephen who is the right age and was born in NC according to the 1860 census. They did have children whose names could have come from Jesse and Jemima ( William Jesse and Jemima Lucinday). A John P. Taylor, age 21, is living with Stephen and Nancy in 1870 and there was no J.P. with J.J. and Jemima Taylor in 1860. There was a J.P. Taylor, aged 12, living with another family. In the 1800 census, the female listed with Isaac Little in Anson Co. was 26-45 (1755-1774), in 1820 she was 45+ (bef 1775), 1830 she was 50-60 (1770-1780), and in 1840 she was 60-70. She was living in 1853 in Union Co. NC.857 Delilah stated that "she has lived in Anson County over forty years only Since the part of Anson where I now live has been put to Union County but I still live near the Anson line and was most convenient for me to come to Lanesborough to make application being quite feeble." Veterans, MV Teal states that he was the son of George Washington Teal of Abbeville
SC, who lived in Campbell Co., GA and died in Pauldin Co. NC ( Paulding Co.,
GA). GW Teal was the son of Emanuel Teal and wife Sarah Elizabeth Little who
lived in NC and moved to Henry Co., GA. His grandparents on his mother's side
was Isaac Little and all were raised in NC. "

Son Ben Ashley Thigpen recieved 4 Negroes unnamed. Son Spencer received the land where he lived and 3 Negros: Rebecca, Wilson, Mary, and another named Eli. Son Kenneth Thipen received the land where he lived adjacent to Cullen Cobb, Allen Warren, William and Spencer, and the Negro twins Tuppy and Peter and in addition, Amber, Penny, Sally, Ann, Liba, Jane, Lemmy, and Dick and their increase. Ancestral File provides date as 2 Jan. 1831 (AFN:ZMSV-GR) Eaton Cobb is executor of Benjamin G. Little's estate and is called uncle by him. Since Sylvia only lists Gray, William, Seth and Peninah in her will, it is possible she is not the mother of the other children. Thigpen says that the older children received deeds in addition to shares in their father's estate, and thus the younger children received their share through Sylvia.
