Margaret James and had: John, Henry, Culpepper, Robert, Joseph A., Jefferson, Edna, rebecca, Sally,
Nancy, Drucilla, James, Hosea, and Eliza who md. Eber A Jerome s/o of Katie
McLarty d/o Alexander Mclarty. Notes stated that the Bivens were of German descent, probably from the area of Germany where the protestants took refuge). Bivens left PA and settled on Richardson Creek in Anson Co.

Of their 10 children. 8 were thought to have gone to GA.

With her were Margaret A. 19, Mary M. 17, Alvin 14, Parilla J. 2. She died on 22 Jun 1900 in Union Co. NC.102,165 She was buried in Traywick Fam Cem, Union Co, NC.49,165 Rebecca Ross is buried in the Little-Traywick cemetery. I visited that cemetery in May 1997 and again in May 1998 and photographed the marker, which is a slate marker with clearly scratched lettering: Rebeca Ross; Born Dec. 29 1821; Died June, 22, 1900 Parents: Nathaniel BIVENS and Margaret JAMES.

Notable Southern Families listed his birth as 1726 and death as 1729; I am simply guessing that the 2 should have been a 7; he was still living in 1771 when he was in the Battle of Alamance. Two of Jacob's sons became governors of Tennessee: William in 1790 and Willie in 1809. Parents: Thomas BLOUNT and Ann READING.
