LITTLE; BORN; Jan 25, 1863; DIED; Sep 12, 1871 She died on 12 Sep 1871.49 She was buried about 12 Sep 1871 in Little Cemetery, Union Co, NC.706 Parents: Samuel Knox LITTLE and Lydia Caroline GRIFFIN. Mary Francis LITTLE was born on 8 Jul 1882 in Cottage Grove, Williamson Co., IL. [NEED TO DEFINE SENTENCE: moved]464 Mary Francis and her husband probably moved to Arkansas with her parents. [NEED TO DEFINE SENTENCE: moved]464 She died on 15 Sep 1967 in Chickasha OK. She was buried in Rose Hill Cem., Chickasha OK. Her reference number is J4.6. Mary Grissom wrote of her experience in Old Paths: "I cannot refrain from telling some of my joys at times. My baby and only child had been sick almost a year. One evening my husband came in, the baby was worse. I just felt like I had to get on my knees and ask the Lord to spare the child to us. I knelt by his cradle and I believe the Lord gave me a spirt of prayer. He got better and was spared to us. Soon after this we moved near Abbott, Arkansas and an Old Baptist Church. [This must have been J.B. Little's Little Flock Church at Crossroads Arkansas.] I then thought Old Baptists were in a cold state and preached dangerous doctrine. But I did go to see what they believed. I went again and again. I was comforted by their preaching, and soon was loving them and wanting to join them, but did not feel worthy of their fellowship. I would try to reason with myself this way----your dead father did not believe as they do [Harvey preached in the United Baptist churches], and they do not want you in the church, but I could not be satisfied. I looked forward to a three days meeting they were to have, with both joy and fear. I wanted to join and feared they would refuse to receive me. The meeting time came. I did not get much comfort from the first services, was in so much trouble. They were called together by singing. I thought I would not go in, but did and took a back seat but did not stay long. I went outside and began talking to a neighbor who was wanting to join the church, too. Eld. J.B. Little, pastor of the church, was outside too on account of a headache. My neighbor told him I wanted to join the church. I told him I did not feel worthy. He said, "Mary, your unworthy feelings are the keynote to Christian fellowship, that Paul said he as the chief of sinners"....In November 1908 I and the woman mentioned and her husband were baptized. ...The severe trial of our little church does not keep me from hoping for a better day in Zion. [This must refer to the split between J.B. and some of the church.] The Little Legend, page 195 Parents: Harvey Ingram LITTLE and Lydia Ann HUNTER. Spouse: Joseph Milton GRISSOM. Mercy LITTLE was born about 1742.328 She died on 7 May 1779 in Pembroke MA.328 Parents: Isaac LITTLE and Abigail CUSHING. Meryle LITTLE was born on 29 Mar 1908 in Sweetwater OK.971 She was living between 1943 and 2000 in La Porte TX.972 In 1944, the family lived in a house in LaPorte which would now have been on the conrer of Main and Fairmont on same side of road as the highschool. In January of 1945, they moved to the Evans house at 755 Lobit. Mom lived there until she moved in with us in the summer of 2000. She was ill with macular degeneration in 1977.608 Mom's eye condition became very obvious when she drove Robin and Peni to meet Jane at the University of Houston at Clear Lake. When Jane saw her driving up, it frightened her to see her swerve. The girls said that she swerved all over the road on the way there. Meryle has had pneumonia several times and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure when she was in the hospital with pneumonia in 1987. In 1995, a spot was found on one Meryle's kidneys. She died pneumonia on 30 Nov 2004 in Dickinson, TX.949 Mom had been in the hospital for two weeks. We brought her home by ambulance in the afternoon and she died about 6:30 that evening. She was buried on 4 Dec 2004 in Grandview Memorial Cemetery, Pasadena TX.949 From an email written by me the day after the burial to cousins who could not come to the service: The service yesterday was beautiful. We started the morning at the gravesite and had a very brief service. Then we moved to the church for the memorial service. It was conducted by our minister in La Porte Danny Wayman. He was assisted by our Associate Minister Jack Womack and the minister from Dickinson, Ron Page. Ron was the preacher at La Porte a few years ago, so Mom knew him from both places and they were good friends. Mom had selected the hymns and most of the passages, as well as suggested people to speak. The music director Kym and her husband Richard led the music and did an awesome duet (accompanied by the rest of us) on Beautiful Isle of Somewhere which most of us had never heard before. They had to search the internet to find the music. Somewhere the sun is shining, Somewhere the songbirds dwell; Hush, then, thy sad repining, God lives, and all is well. Refrain: Somewhere, somewhere, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere! Land of the true, where we live anew, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere! Somewhere the day is longer, Somewhere the task is done; Somewhere the heart is stronger, Somewhere the guerdon won. Refrain Somewhere the load is lifted, Close by an open gate; Somewhere the clouds are rifted, Somewhere the angels wait. Refrain Pretty, isnt it? I guess this is a song Mom knew from years back. Jack read Psalm 23 and said some personal things about Mom. Ron read Ecclesiastes 3:1-4 and I Corinthians 13 and also provided some personal comments and stories. Mom had a friend who she campaigned for and acted as advisor to when he ran for and served on the school board. When he told Mom he was moving to Alabama, Mom said Now Ill never see you again and I wanted you to speak at my funeral. He answered Meryle, there is no way Id miss your funeral. And he didnt. He gave a very touching talk, which I dont yet have a copy of. Rachel Hampton, Moms long-time friend spoke and I am attaching her talk. Another couple of folks spoke from their seats. Danny read my tribute for me as I knew I would choke up. The witnesses were followed by a solo by Richard - How Great Thou Art. Danny provided the Homily which was short and comforting. And the service closed with the congregation singing In the Garden one of Moms favorites. It was an uplifting service. Mom chose very well. I asked Mom Christmas 2003 what her family did for Christmas. She stated that they hung up stockings, which were filled mostly with nuts and fruits. They generally went over to Auntie's at the family place (this would have been Monti's sister Rosa and the other siblings who stayed there). They had a big dinner. She remembers getting a broken doll at Auntie's. That's how she found out there was no Santa. They did have a tree decorated with beads. She was at a Christmas party when Bill was born. Parents: William Alfred LITTLE and Montezella LEWIS. Spouse: W. D. MURTISHAW. W. D. MURTISHAW and Meryle LITTLE were married on 28 Jun 1930 in Waldron AR. Children were: Living, Living, Living. Micah LITTLE323,676,851 owned 105 acres in Anson Co. on 28 Oct 1808 in Anson Co. NC.973 The first mention of Micah in Anson Co. was this 1808 deed from Ingoe Cash for land adjacent to Daniel Fones and witnessed by Isaac Little and J. Sherwd Auld. He appeared in the census between 1810 and 1820 in Anson Co. NC. Michael was in census for Anson in 1810 and 1820. A younger Micah appears in 1840. Michael Little sells land in Anson Co. in 1829. He was living in 1815 in Anson Co. NC.974 In the 1815 Anson Co. Tax List, Michael Little and Pleasant Little were listed in Capt. Cariker's tax list. Both were listed with a slash under W Pole, which probably indicated one (age 21 - 50). He owned 200 acres in Feb 1829 in Anson Co. NC.973 Michael sold 200 acres in Anson Co. to Duncan McRae. The sale was witnessed by Elisha Little. He was also known as Michael. The Thigpen Tribe lists Michael Little as the 5th child of Isaac. They cite the will of Michael Little in Edgecombe Co. in 1825, but that Michael left property to his father and Isaac was deceased long before then. Thus, it is improbable that it is the same person. Pitt Co. Deeds include a deed from Isaac and Micah Little, heirs of Isaac Little, in 1795. There is later evidence linking Micah/Michael of Anson Co. to Pleasant and Isaac Little. Parents: Isaac LITTLE Sr. and PLEASANT. Micajah LITTLE694 was born before 1745.690 Micajah Little was witnessing deeds by 12 Jan 1765, so he likely would have been at least 16 and more likely older. Placing Micajah as son of Benjamin based on will noted in Olds' book; information provided by Bridget Little Cook. However, our Benjamin would be 97 years old, so it is unlikely it is the same man. Parents: Benjamin LITTLE and Martha UNKNOWN. Children were: Micajah LITTLE. Micajah LITTLE was born about 1762 in Martin Co. NC.975 He appeared in the census in 1790 in Martin Co. NC.976 In 1790, a Micajah Little was listed in Martin Co. NC as: 1/4/6 - or one adult male, 4 males under 16, and 6 females. He had been listed in Martin Co., North Carolina censuses and tax lists in 1777, 1778, 1779, and 1787 [Ancestry census search] In 1800, a Micajah Little was listed in Hampstead, Rockingham, New Hampshire: 0001023010 In 1810, a Micajah Little (age 26-44) was listed in Surry, Stafford Co. VA: 10110;01010 Several people note a Micajah Little born about 1761 - 1763 in Martin Co. He is likely a descendant of Benjamin Little. I am placing him as a son of the elder Micajah as a holding place only. However, there is a marriage record for a Micajah Little to Mrs. Ann Wright in Surry Co. VA on 10 Nov 1806 [Ancestry, Virginia Marriages 1740-1850] There are also two War of 1812 records for a Micajah Little in Virginia The 1810 census lists only one Micajah Little - one in Surry Co. VA; while in 1790 there was also only one - in Martin Co. NC. In 1800 there was only one - in New Jersey! See the 1790 census entry for details. Parents: Micajah LITTLE. Spouse: Mary BRACKENBURY. Micajah LITTLE and Mary BRACKENBURY were married.185 Micajah LITTLE was born about 1814 in Georgia.760 He appeared in the census in 1840 in Walker Co. AL.977 Micajah was listed as 20 to 30 (b 1810-1820), with one male under 5 (b 1835-40), two females under 5, and one female age 5 to 10 (b 1830-1835). Apparently he had no wife. He appeared in the census in 1880 in Carroll Co. MS.760 Living with Micajah and wife were three daughters and a grandaughter named Georgana aged 1. Georgana's parents were listed as born in MS, while none of the daughters were listed as born MS. Next door was a Thomas Little, age 25, whose father was listed as born Va and mother Ala, which does not match the states for Micajah and wife. Spouse: Gillah WIFE OF MICAJAH LITTLE. Micajah LITTLE and Gillah WIFE OF MICAJAH LITTLE were married.760 Children were: Eliza LITTLE, Lucinda LITTLE, Melinda LITTLE. Michael LITTLE died about 30 Jan 1826 in Edgecombe Co. NC.323 Michael Little left a will dated Jan. 30,. 1826. and probated Feb Ct. 1826, Book F, p 51, (Box 37.806.19, folder Michael Little 1826, Edgecombe) gives all "waring apparal" to 6 bros. and father. The Ballance of his estate he gives to his loving sister Elizabeth Little. This Michael cannot be the son of Isaac, as Isaac was deceased by 1797. The Thigpen Tribe lists Michael Little as a son Michael unproven LITTLE was born about 1819 in North Carolina.43,898 In th 1850 census, Michael is listed as 31 (b 1819), Mary 37, James K. , Eliza A. 12, Mary J. 10, William G. 8, Emeline 5, Susan 3, Isaac 1, Delilah 8/12. In the 1830 census, Isaac had three males age 15-20 (b 1810-1815); possibly a mistake. Another researcher, Michelle Chance, lists this Michael as Robert Michael Litle and says he was married to Mary Homes/Hornes/Harnes, daughter of James and Mary Homes/Hornes/Harnes. She lists the children as James Kendal married Mary Ann Hendrix, Eliza Ann, Mary Jane, William Green, Emilia Memavia, Susan Adeline, and Isaac (no Delilah). He appeared in the census in 1840 in Anson Co. NC.978 Michael Little is listed on page 65 as age 20-30 (b 1810-1820); one male under 5; one female 20-30 (b 1810-1820); one 10-15; one under 5. He died after 1871.44 When son Isaac married, he was listed as the son of Michael and Polly Little. Parents: Isaac LITTLE and Delilah TEAL. Spouse: Mary [LITTLE]. Michael unproven LITTLE and Mary [LITTLE] were married about 1835. Basing marriage date on birthdate of first child. Children were: James K (Kendal)? LITTLE, Eliza A. LITTLE, Mary J. LITTLE, William G. LITTLE, Emeline LITTLE, Susan LITTLE, Isaac LITTLE, Delilah LITTLE. Miles T. LITTLE749,979 was born in May 1863 in North Carolina.5,980 He died in 1925.980 He was Preacher.800 Miles T. Little was excommunicated because of drinking. When excommunicated, Miles formed a Reorganized Latter Day Saints Church at Haleys Creek. Their headquarters is in Independence MO. In at least one record, Miles was listed as Miles W. Little but his name was apparently Miles T. Little. Randall Little descends from Miles. According to his email 31 Oct 2003, his line is: Delton R. Little, b 1926, d 1999 Royce "Roy" M. Little, b 1897, d 1977 Miles T. Little, b 1863, d 1925 George W. Little, b 1836, d 1864 James "Jimmy" Little, b 1810, d ? Parents: George W. LITTLE and Curantha PRESLAR. Spouse: Sarah. Miles T.

Parents: James LITTLE and Rosanna TUCKER. Nahum (Naum) LITTLE676 was born between 1760 and 1765. In 1810, Nahum, in Pitt Co. was 26-45. In 1830, a Nahum Little is in Jasper Co. GA and is listed as 60 to 70, which would work with Nahum's age in 1810 and make him born 1760-1765. He appeared in the census in 1840 in Jasper Co. GA.984 Nahum was 6-7- with one male 15-20, 1 female 5-10, and one female 60-70. Nahum was the executor of Jacob's will. Parents: Jacob LITTLE and Mary (LITTLE). Spouse:
Unknown GRAY. Nahum (Naum) LITTLE and
Unknown GRAY appeared in the census in 1810 in Pitt Co. NC.418 Nahum was listed as 26-44 with 4 males under 10 (Wiley
& James) and one 10-15 (Bryant), and females 45+, 26-44, 16-25, 10-15, and
under 10. This would mean Nahum was born 1766-1784. These dates do not work
for Etheldred's father, but do work for the father of Wiley Little, born 1805
in Snow Hill, Greene County, NC. They appeared in the census in 1820 in Greene
Co. NC.419 Naum Little
was listed 1211-1--2-1-5----1 which translates to one male 45+ (b by 1875), 1
16-26, 1 16-18 (b 1802-1804), 2 10-16 (b 1804-1810 Wiley), and 1 under 10 (b
1810-1820; James); 2 females 16-26 and 1 45+; 5 persons engaged in agriculture
and 1 male slave 26-45. I believe that means that he had 4 sons living at home
with one of them being 16-18 years old (also counted as 16-26.)
