Daus: Selah Taylor, Sarah Belcher, Ann Gardner and Elizabeth Gardner. Wit: William Little, Axum Little He served in the military.354 Abraham furnished supplies for the army during the Revolutionary War. Rev. War Accts. Vol. VII, p. 65, #519, NC State Archives. According to Alice Zell, who file a DAR supplemental on him, pay vouchers #3859 and 3861 prove his service. (NSDAR#539682 Miss Dovey Lentriss Dowdle) Some data from the Thigpen Tribe. Albert LITTLE663 was born on 21 Jul 1903 in Black Jack Ridge, Sebastian Co. AR.664 He died on 22 Oct 1978 in Minneapolis.663 He was buried about Nov 1978 in Heavener OK.663 Ivy had Albert's body brought to Heavener for burial. While in his teens Albert and a neighbor boy, Frank Trusty, left home together and both "sowed their wild oats". For years no one heard from Albert; he wrote his brothers now and then to borrow money. He was never home again for long. It is believed that Albert worked in Joplin MO and married there. Ivy, more than any on of the other brothers, kept in touch with him. Ivy sent him money to come home but Albert didn't stay long. He worked some in Chicago for the Union Pacific Railway but, seemingly, was always down in his luck. The Salvation Army in Minneapolis took Albert in, gave him medical help and had him attending church. Albert wrote to Ivy several times, seemingly " a changed man".

Allen LITTLE137 was born about 1811 in Edgefield District, SC.153 I had assumed him to be born between 1772 and 1816 assuming father was at least 20 when his children were born and that all children were adults when listed in the will, which appears to be the case.
Linda Martin provided census data for an Allen Little who was born in 1811 in NC. He had a son named Jesse, born Oct. 1852, Itawamba County, Mississippi. Allen's age would be correct to be William's son and the given names fit. It is very likely that this is the same family, BUT NOT PROVEN. [NEED TO DEFINE SENTENCE: moved]153 Melissa was born in SC in 1847 and Allen and family were in Mississippi by the census of 1850. He appeared in the census between 1850 and 1860 in Itawamba Co. Alvin Harvey LITTLE was born on 10 Jan 1861 in Williamson Co. IL.667 Census record. However, it is likely that he was born in Benton Co. TN as there is evidence that the David Little family was still in TN in 1864. He was living about 1876 in IL.668 Need to verify date. Same page lists 4th Sunday in Nov 76. "Hear on Wednesday following Eld. Harvey Little from Illinois preached at our church and our former moderator being ill Bro. L. acted as moderator..." He was living in Sep 1877 in Henderson Co. TN.669 Deed has Ahim H. Little as witness to sale of land by D. L. Little on 15 Sep. 1877. Likely this was Alvin H. Little and likely he was living there at that time. He appeared in the census in 1890 in Nashville AR.667 Irma quotes the Nashville Ark. School Census for 1890. He died on 27 Sep 1890 in St Louis Missouri.670 The Little Legend quotes a newspaper clipping dated 27 Sep, but which did not show the year: " Instead of being a bride today, Mrs. L.E. Stone, who was to marry Alvin H. Little this afternoon, is mourning his death. Little was killed last night by a street car while he was on his way to the home of Mrs. Stone for his last ante nuptial call. Mrs. Stone collapsed when she heard of her fiance's death." Amariah LITTLE was born between 1816 and 1824. Father died in 1824. Mariah and Joseph were still listed as infant 1837, which means they were under 21. Thus they would have been born 1816-1824. He died on 26 Jan 1843 in Edgecombe Co. NC.372,671 According to Kinfolks of Edgecombe Co., Amariah died intestate; heirs were his brothers Joseph J. Little, Cullin Little, Wm. Gray Little, and Elisha Little; widow Mary E. Little had since died; Elisha Little died intestate without leaving lawful issue, and Wm Gray Little died leaving an only heir and son Noah Little; Joseph J. Little resided in Sumter Co. AL Jan. 1, 1854. Implication was that he died in Edgecombe on 26 January 1843; perhaps I misread it, since he apparently died on or after 29 January.
A verbal will was recorded in Sumter Co. Will Book I, pg 219 (324). Will Little, John T. Gill, and H.J. Fennell stated "A request made by Amariah Little in our presence while in his last illness and a short time before his death he wished all debts paid, and after that his mother to have the balance during her life. After her death to revert back to his heirs. We believe him to have been in his proper mind this 29th January 1843." Will was recorded February 15, 1843. He was also known as Maria. I had Amariah listed as a female and with an alternate name Maria, but both death records (Edgecombe and Sumter) indicate Amariah is male. Parents: Noe (Noah) LITTLE and Mary EDMONDSON.

He died on 7 Sep 1862 in Antietam, (Sharpsburg).68 According to Reba Little Inzer, he was a Confederate soldier killed at the battle of Antietam. Parents: Aaron LITTLE and Mary Emaline POLK.

Asa LITTLE676 was born before 1767. He appears to have been an adult when he was mentioned in his father's will. He died about Nov 1821 in Edgecombe Co. NC.677,678,679 Lida Overton had provided a date of 18 Apr 1800, but it must be wrong or his son Jacob's birth year is wrong. The reference to Lesha being Jacob's guardian in 1826 would seem to indicate a much later death date.
Petition for year's provisions by the widow Felical Little was made November 1821 and alloted 1 March 1822. Lisa Guidry listed a Nahum Little as a child of Asa's, but he is not listed in The Thigpen Tribe. Parents: Jacob LITTLE and Mary (LITTLE).

Asa LITTLE was born about 1829 in Anson Co. NC.672 Was not 21 when Pleasant published his will Feb 7, 1832. Was 21 in 1850 census. He appeared in the census in 1850 in Anson Co. NC. Wadesbororugh District, pg. 447. He was 21. He died in 1863 in Anson Co. NC.406 Parents: Pleasant LITTLE and Rachel KNOX?.
Ashley LITTLE was born in 1832.23 Cannot find this family in 1860 and afterwards. He died on 13 May 1863 in Little Rock AR.680,681 He died in a Little Rock Hospital from injuries suffered serving as a Confederate in the Civil War. Parents: George LITTLE and Sary HINSON.

He gave his gold watch to his friend C.J. McConnico. He gave his father his gold head cane. He named his father Will Little and brother Dr. W.G. Little his executors. Witnesses were J.A. Abraham. Benjamin LITTLE254 was born about 1711 in Surry Co. VA. Thigpen had him born in 1691. I am just putting an approximate date based on the oldest child being born around 1703. He owned on 16 Feb 1742 in Southwark Parish, Surry VA.687 Richard and Mary Webb of Newport Parish, Isle of Wight, sold Thomas Edwards and Benjamin Little of Southwark Parish, Surry Co. 108 acres in Southwark Parish adjoining 107 acres which he had sold to William Little Nov. 23, 1723. It was one half of a tract of land patented to John Bynum on Apr. 23, 1781 (probably meant 1681?) and was subsequently sold to his father William Webb. Deed was witnessed by John Judkins, John Little, and Robt Hart. He owned Granted 140A on N side of Blackwater on 5 Sep 1749 in Surry Co. VA.688 Benjamin was granted 140 acres on the N side of Black Water Swamp adjacent to Allen Warren and John Brown. He was living on 10 Jan 1752 in Blackwater, Surry Co. NC.689 p. 464 10 Jan 1752. John Bennit to Benjamin Little 100 A on west side of third swamp of Blackwater (being part of 200 acres which said Bennit bought from Edward Matthis on 17 Jun 1733. Witnesses Robert Hart, John Little, Isaac Little, John Champion. Suspect this deed and the ones in NC are for a younger Benjamin Little. He was living on 12 Jan 1765 in Surry Co. VA.690 Benjamin and wife Martha sold 140 acres to John Brown Jr. on 12 Jan 1765. The deed was witnessed by Joseph Holleman, Jesse Little, and Micajah Little.
[NEED TO DEFINE SENTENCE: moved]691 On 10 Mar 1768, Benjamin Little of Halifax County North Carolina sold 140 acres on north side of Blackwater Swamp to Robert Bell. The deeds were witnessed by Sampson Pitman, Micajah Little, and Samuel Tellor or Felton. He signed a will on 6 Aug 1786 in Martin Co. NC.692,693 Benajmin named son Micajah, daughter Salley Little, grandson Edward Pitman, my children now living, grandsons Edward Pitman & Uriah Little to have an equal part. Micajah Little executor. Witnesses John Owains, Lewelling Grimes Jurat, Mary Edwards. (Book 1, pg 142) He died in 1788 in Martin Co. NC.694 Parents: William LITTLE and Frances RAYNER.

Benjamin B. LITTLE was born about 1840 in Alabama.696 He signed a will on 30 Sep 1861.697 He apparently willed his estate that he had, his distributive shares of the estate of Gray Little, and other property that he might acquire to his brother William W. Little. According to Wills of Sumter Co. he wrote "I give and bequeath to my brother William W. Little, and if my brother William W. Little shall die leaving no children, then it is my wish and desire that after the death of my brohter William, he leaving no children, that my property of whatever nature...shall be equally divided among my brother and sisters to wit: Lydia Manly, wife of J.H. Manly, Sylvia Bailey wife of W.W. Bailey, Martha Bettie Little, Margaret C. Little, Lucy B. Little, and Henry Gray Little..." signed 30 Sept. 1861 and witnessed by Joseph B. Wilkinson, Edwin G. Stanton, and W.G. Little. He added a codicil 21 Oct 1861 appointing his brother William W. Little as executor. It was witnessed by W.G. Little and Will Little. He died about Mar 1867.697 A codicil to his will was signed 21 Oct 1861, but the will was not recorded until April 2, 1867. Parents: Gray LITTLE and Betsy RUFFIN.
Benjamin G. LITTLE was born between 1817 and 1827. Guessing that he would have been between 20 and 30 when he made his will. He died about Jul 1847.138 Benjamin made his will in case he never returned from the army 7 Jan. 1847. He stated he had left his estate in the hands of friend W.D. Petway of Edgecombe Co. He left his estate to William E., Jesse C., Sarah E., Lawrence D., Mary A. and Margaret A. Little. Executor was his uncle Eaton Cobb. Witnesses were Jno. G. Williams and L. Williams.
