Parents: Richard LEE. Elsey LEE. Parents: Richard LEE and Martha "Patsy" LITTLE. Spouse: Benjamin ? WILLIAMS. Benjamin ? WILLIAMS and Elsey LEE were married. This marriage is questionable, but I am leaving it here in order to tie Benjamin Williams in with Richard Lee. Benjamin Williams was given one bed and furniture, one cow & calf & small track of land which the said Williams has conveyed to his use in Anson. Co. Richard's daughter Elsey Williams was given one bed and furniture, one cow & calf, and many other articles. It seems unlikely Richard would have given bed, furniture, cow & calf to both his daughter and her husband, so perhaps Benjamin was the widower of another daughter or was the son of Elsey. James LEE. Spouse: Hannah LITTLE. James LEE and Hannah LITTLE were married.577 The petition by J.J. Little on Asa's estate in 1884 said Hannah married James Lee. James (Unproved) LEE died before 5 Sep 1823. James Lee was deeded land by Gray Allen on both sides of Little Creek (Anson Co. Deeds, Bk V, pg 61 and Bk W, pg 17). Research is required to determine if he was a son of Richard Lee. If so, he was likely deceased by the time Richard wrote his will in 1823. Richard did leave money to grandson William Lee, without mentioning whose son he was. For now, I am placing him as son of James. Parents: Richard LEE and Martha "Patsy" LITTLE. Children were: William LEE. Jemima LEE was born about 1790 in Anson Co. Richard LEE was born between 1751 and 1761.574,578,579,580 Bryant and Richard were minors at the time of their father's death in 1762. Richard and Bryant were still minors January 1767 when James Permenter exhibited an account of his guardianship of Bryant and Richard Lee, orphans of Solomon Lee, dec'd. They were also listed as minors in Feb. 1769 when he mad another account. Richard bought land Dec. 22, 1782 and sold land on Feb. 24, 1783, indicating he was an adult, which would make him born no later than Dec. 22, 1761. (This could have been Solomon's brother Richard Lee, but since Bryan was a witness, it seems that this was probably the younger Richard.) He served in the military between 1776 and 1783 in North Carolina.581 Lee's letter stated that Richard, raised an orphan, "went into the Colonial Army soon after the war commenced and remained to the close." He owned Sold land lying on Pitt Co. line on 20 Feb 1787 in Edgecombe Co. NC.582 Richard Lee of Edgecombe Co. sold 200 acre tract lying on Pitt Co. line. Martha "Patsy" LITTLE. Richard
LEE and Martha "Patsy" LITTLE were married about 1783.581 Several researchers of Richard Lee have stated that
Richard's wife was Martha "Patsy" Little. Richard willed his "grand
son William Lee" his colt and $200 in cash and does not refer to him as
a minor. If he is grown and he was the son of both Richard and Martha, then
Richard and Martha likely had been married at least 40 years.

Exr: Jeremiah (really should be Jemimah) Lee, Arthur Lee, James Permenter. Wit: John Ward, Jr., William Barron. I have not seen the will, only the abstract. The wording on Charles seems odd since he does not specify what he does give Charles. He died in Mar 1762 in Edgecombe Co. NC.587 Will of Solomon Lee was proved. Parents: Richard LEE. In a deed recorded in 1828, William Lee and Lydia Proctor Lee of Perry Co. AL sold land in Anson Co. (Bk. W-265). Whether he was really the son of James Lee is just a guess.
