Fair Vote Organization Press Conference
in Support of the Orange Ribbon Campaign
Houston Fair Vote held a press conference on the steps of City
Hall on December 7 to express support for the Orange Ribbon Campaign.
About 12-18 Houstonians for a Fair Vote came out for the press
conference. The conference was opened by Edwin Johnston. Dalia Stokes read a
prepared statement from the Houston Fair Vote group and Texas state Representative
Debra Danburg provided remarks on the need for a full and fair count of the
votes.
Press representatives from Channels 11, 13 and 48 showed up to
cover the event, along with print journalists from the Texas Triangle and El
Dia newspaper. Channel 11 news at noon provided a good report of our press conference,
focusing on the Orange Ribbons. We beat out the anniversary of Pearl Harbor
on that program!
