How to Get to El Tajin
El Tajin is the closest major archeological site to Texas. You can get there by:
- Car or Bus:
- From Matamoros Mexico/Brownsville Texas: go south on highway 180 to Papantla Veracruz.
- Plane:
- Fly to Mexico City or Veracruz (city) and take a bus to Papantla.
Papantla to El Tajin
There should be several buses a day from Papantla to El Tajin. When you get off of the bus at El Tajin, be sure to check where to catch the bus to get back to Papantla (I didn't, it was a long trip!).
