Building Your Own
Computer - August 14th
Jerry Poel, HAL-PC Clear Lake Technician
|
|
On Friday, August 14th
at 9:00 a.m., Jerry & George demonstrated how to
build your own computer starting with the basics:
Case, Mother Board, Processor, Memory Modules, Hard
Drive, CD ROM, Power Supply, and Corded USB Keyboard
and Mouse.
They assembled the computer,
installed the XP Home Operating System and updated
the OS and device drivers. This is a new MB and SATA
HD and the original XP Home OS does not have SATA
drivers available for the HD without Service Pack 3.
The process of slipstreaming or how to add SP3 to
the install disk was described.
The Windows Upgrade
Advisor shows that these computers are fully
compatible with Windows 7.
