HAL-PC STOCK MARKET SIG MEETINGS
Day: Second Saturday of every month
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 pm
Location: Classroom A

  • The focus of this SIG is fundamental security analysis and "big picture" economics, applied to equity portfolio strategy.
  • We look at current events impacting intermarket relationships between currency, commodity, bond, and stock markets.
  • Discussions utilize publicly available (free) web resources useful to independent, objective equity security portfolio management.

The Stock Market SIG is the longest continuously running group devoted to equity investment at HAL-PC. Informal discussions among group participants use web and desktop computing resources. We highlight analytical techniques, opportunities, and risks under current market conditions.

The group is intended to be a self-help educational forum and a comfortable place to exchange opinions and experiences. It is not, however, a source of "investment advice". We do not discuss investment software or trading systems in depth, as other SIGS have been formed for this purpose. It's not a "high beta" atmosphere. We have maintained a generally successful, low-key, common-sense orientation over the years. Yes, we're still here! All are welcome to attend.
